School readiness
School readiness is whether a child has the self-care, attention and communication skills to cope with the classroom.
What it is not
It is not letters and numbers. The signals that predict a settled start are separating calmly, following a two-step instruction, managing a coat and a lunch, and asking for help.
It is also relative to the local [[School starting age]] — the same profile means different things at four and at seven.
