Youth dependency ratio
Definition
Youth dependency ratio is the number of people under 15 per 100 people of working age.
Reading it
High youth dependency is the front half of a [[Demographic dividend]] — those children become workers. Whether it pays off depends entirely on whether education and jobs exist when they arrive.
DR Congo is near 88; South Korea is near 16.
