Verifiable parental consent
Verifiable parental consent is consent from a parent obtained by a method that actually confirms they are the parent.
Why it is hard
The standard is set by COPPA in the US and by GDPR in the EU. Acceptable methods include payment card verification and signed forms — none of them are frictionless, which is why so many services simply exclude under-13s instead.
