Short-form video
Short-form video is vertical video under roughly 60 seconds, delivered by algorithmic feed.
Why it is treated separately
Most screen-time research predates it. The format differs from earlier video in three ways: it is algorithmically selected rather than chosen, it is very short, and it autoplays indefinitely.
Where studies separate short-form from other screen use, the effects on attention and sleep tend to be larger.
