Echo boom
Echo boom is a rise in births caused by a large previous cohort reaching childbearing age.
Why it is not a real boom
An echo boom raises the number of births without raising the fertility rate — there are simply more potential parents. Millennials produced an echo boom in several countries in the 2010s, which is part of why [[Generation Alpha]] is large despite falling fertility.
