Age gating
Definition
Age gating is restricting access to a service or content by declared or verified age.
Declared against verified
Almost every major platform sets 13 as its minimum and verifies it by asking. That is a stated policy, not a control.
See [[Age assurance]] for the stricter version regulators are moving toward.
