Safer Internet Day 2027 is on Tuesday 9 February 2027. In the UK, where it is coordinated by the UK Safer Internet Centre, the theme is "Reflect on tech: exploring digital wellbeing and our relationship with technology". Across Europe the day is run by the Insafe network through Better Internet for Kids, which had not announced a 2027 theme as of 2 November 2026.
Safer Internet Day 2027 is on Tuesday 9 February 2027. Both organisers give that date: the UK Safer Internet Centre and Better Internet for Kids, which says the "global day of focus" falls on that Tuesday. Checked 2 November 2026.
The 2027 theme
- United Kingdom: "Reflect on tech: exploring digital wellbeing and our relationship with technology", announced by the UK Safer Internet Centre. It says its free resources will be available to download from November 2026.
- Europe and worldwide: Better Internet for Kids had not announced a 2027 theme or slogan on its event page as of 2 November 2026.
Some resource sites list other "2027 themes" and even a different date. Use the organisers' own pages above.

A 30-minute lesson for "Reflect on tech"
This lesson fits the UK theme and uses three free tools on this site. It needs a projector, and works for ages 9 to 14 with small changes. Nothing needs an account.
| Time | Activity | Tool |
|---|---|---|
| 0 to 5 min | Warm-up: the language gap. Run the quiz on the board the other way round: pupils guess what older slang words such as "rad" and "naff" mean. Ask: what words do you use online that adults would not understand? | Slang quiz for kids |
| 5 to 15 min | Which apps are we allowed on? Show the minimum ages for the apps pupils name. Some may find they are under the age in the app's own terms. Discuss: why might a company set 13, and why have some countries set 16? | App age requirements chart |
| 15 to 25 min | What keeps us safe? In pairs, pupils go through the checklist as a class version: which items can a child do themselves (blocking and reporting, spotting a scam message, keeping their school out of their screen name), and which need an adult? | Online safety checklist |
| 25 to 30 min | Reflect on tech. Each pupil writes one thing they like about their tech, one thing they would change, and the name of the adult they would tell if something went wrong online. | None |
