Gen Alpha slang · Noun
aura
Meaning
Aura is Gen Alpha slang for social presence, gained or lost through what you do, used mainly by ages 8–18.
Where it came from
Emerged in 2024 as a points system: you gain aura for something impressive and lose it for something embarrassing. Entirely a joke format, but a very durable one.
Tone check
Playful. "Aura loss" is teasing, not bullying, unless it targets the same person constantly.
Used in a sentence
"Minus 500 aura for that."
"His aura is insane."
Peak: 2024–2026
Age range: 8–18
