How many Generation Beta children were born today?
Every baby born in the world today joins Generation Beta. This is the running total since midnight UTC.
Since 00:00 UTC today. Refresh at midnight and it starts again.
Every baby born today is Generation Beta, at a rate of about 4.2 a second worldwide, and that will remain true for every birth until 31 December 2039.
How this number is built
Identical in mechanism to the worldwide births counter, because right now they are the same number: the Beta cohort is open, so every birth on Earth joins it. That stops being true on 1 January 2040.
What it cannot tell you
It counts births, not the living cohort. Infant mortality is not subtracted here — the living-cohort figure on the main population counter is the one that accounts for it.
