In short

Pew's 2025 survey found that about three-quarters of US teens aged 13 to 17 use YouTube every day, making it by far the most-visited daily platform for teens.

YouTube is not just popular with teens. It is part of their everyday routine. According to Pew Research Center, roughly three-quarters of US teens use YouTube every day, at 76%, making it the platform teens visit most often on a daily basis.

The same survey puts the other major platforms well behind YouTube for daily use. TikTok is used daily by 61% of teens, Instagram by 55%, Snapchat by 46%, and Facebook by only 20%. In other words, video is not one option among many for teens. It is where their daily attention already goes.

The habit also runs deep for a large minority. Across these five platforms, 36% of teens use at least one of them almost constantly. That does not mean every teen is glued to a screen all day, but it does mean that for many families, daily video time is the norm rather than the exception.

These figures come from a survey of 1,458 US teens ages 13 to 17, conducted from September 25 to October 9, 2025. For parents, the useful takeaway is simple: if you want to understand your teen's online world, start with YouTube. Talk about what they watch, who they follow, and when watching stops and the rest of life begins, rather than treating all screen time as if it were the same thing.
